You are Invited – NFIP Town Hall – June 5th
Rep Murphy + FEMA will host an info session and Q&A
I am proud to announce that next week I will be hosting an event bringing FEMA representatives to West Houston. I invite you and your neighbors to attend and meet with FEMA staff and local elected officials to discuss National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) claims issues and the continued recovery after Harvey. This is a great opportunity to meet with representatives who can answer your specific NFIP questions and provide valuable information about the rebuilding process as it continues in our community.
When: Tuesday, June 5th, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Where: Memorial Church of Christ, 900 Echo Lane
Who: FEMA NFIP staff, Representative Murphy, and other Houston elected officials
We will have remarks from local elected officials, NFIP presentations by FEMA staff, an open Q&A for general questions about the NFIP claims process, and opportunities for you to visit directly with FEMA staff about your specific NFIP issues.
FEMA WILL be available to:
- answer general NFIP flood insurance claims questions (covered items, information about Increased Cost of Compliance Coverage, how to file an appeal, how to read your policy)
- provide resources to policyholders who need advocate-type services
- field inquiries over NFIP policies and communicate them directly to policyholder’s carriers
- provide information about upcoming hurricane season preparation
- information on how to purchase flood insurance
FEMA will NOT be:
- adjudicating appeals
- determining coverage or making recommendations for payment
- selling flood insurance
I hope that you are able to attend. It is an honor to serve you,
