Governor Abbott signs legislation to strengthen abortion reporting requirements

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott signed House Bill 215, strengthening abortion reporting requirements, specifically relating to minors. The bill requires doctors who perform abortions on minors, to document and report additional information. Here on my last day as State Representative, I want to say thank you to the constituents in HD 133 for electing me and allowing me to serve. We accomplished a lot over these seven terms but more importantly, I learned a lot from my constituents about people, politics and priorities. It was a real pleasure for Kathleen and me to get to know so many of our neighbors — through dozens and dozens of events over the years and thousands of campaign visits to people’s homes. This is a special district. My family moved there in 1963 and it’s been our home since then. It is indeed in good hands with Mano DeAyala For State Rep. He and his wife, Melissa have deep roots here and a wonderful family. I encourage you to ensure that he knows your goals and concerns and to work with him to keep the Lone Star shining brightly.
