HOUSTON – State Representative Jim Murphy (R – Houston) released the following
“We accomplished a lot during the 87th Regular Session. But unfinished business still remains. I’m announcing my intention now for reelection because I am committed to completing the tasks at hand. Redistricting and protecting our communities of interest must be completed this fall when the federal government delivers the necessary census data. I trust that Governor Abbott will also add some significant legislative priorities to the Special Session call.
“I love the people of this District and I look forward to continuing to represent you in the Texas Legislature.”
First elected in 2006, Representative Murphy serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Higher Education and also on Ways & Means.
