FEMA Disaster Recovery Center to open in West Houston Next Week

The DRC at St John Vianney Church will serve those affected by Hurricane Harvey in West Houston

My office as well as the other elected official’s offices have worked hard to make sure that recovery resources are in the neighborhoods that need them.

I am happy to report that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be opening a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at St. John Vianney Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, TX 77079, next week. Build out is projected to begin on Monday and the center will be open either Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning.

We all owe a huge thank you to Judge Ed Emmett, Councilman Greg Travis, Senator Paul Bettencourt, Senator Joan Huffman, The Harris County Office of Emergency Management, and Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner’s office for help in securing this site. This center will serve the needs of West Houston and help as we begin the rebuilding and recovery process.

This newsletter will outline a few of the functions performed at these centers. For more info, visit www.disasterassistance.gov.

It is an honor to serve you,
