Disaster Recovery Resources + Town Hall TONIGHT

Dear Friends,

I hope that the information we have provided on social media and email has made it to you in a timely manner. There are a lot of resources available and we want you to have access to what you need. My office is open daily to help you with questions you may have.

I have been coordinating with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA,) Harris County Office of Emergency Management (HCOEM), and the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) to deliver recovery resources to our district. This newsletter has the locations of the FEMA centers nearest our district. We will continue to work to try and get one even closer to us. These centers are readily accessible facilities or mobile offices where survivors go for information about disaster assistance programs, and to ask questions. Representatives from TDEM, FEMA, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), volunteer groups, and other agencies are at the centers to answer questions about disaster assistance and low-interest disaster loans for homeowners, renters and businesses. They can also help survivors apply for federal disaster assistance.

Hurricane Harvey has been a true test of our resilience as a community and we are not finished yet.  So many of us have suffered incredible amounts of damage to our property, and many of us have still not been able to return home. My office has been busy collecting resources and connecting constituents with the proper source of aid. Together we will be able to recover and move on.

It is an honor to serve you,
