Recognition for Constituents

Leadership and service being recognized in community members from district 133

I was honored to be recognized many groups and organizations for my work in the 85th Legislative session. Four groups, in fact, singled out work by my office to award their highest honor by recognizing me as their “legislator of the year.” The Texas Charter Schools Association, The Texas Apartment Association, the Texas Municipal League, and the Texas Captive Insurance Association.

These bills: 1.) added money to public education without raising taxes, 2.) helped small municipalities (such as our Memorial Villages) protect their children, 3.) protected apartment renters from improper billing practices, and 4.) allowed the burgeoning captive insurance industry to grow and thrive here in Texas.

It really is a great feeling to be honored for my public service, and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve. Another terrific part of my duty as a State Representative is also to recognize incredible service and accomplishments by the constituents of district 133. I relish the opportunity to call out individuals and groups who have contributed to their community, and offer them the recognition they deserve.

In this edition of the newsletter, we are highlighting some recent accomplishments from folks in our district. We expect that you will see some familiar faces, and hope you are inspired to send us the names and accomplishments of your friends and neighbors who are deserving of recognition.

It is an honor to serve you,
